{"id":420,"date":"2013-05-05T17:46:42","date_gmt":"2013-05-05T21:46:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/?p=420"},"modified":"2013-05-05T17:46:42","modified_gmt":"2013-05-05T21:46:42","slug":"obituary-notice-john-falcone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/?p=420","title":{"rendered":"Obituary Notice- John Falcone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/FalconeJ.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-421\" title=\"FalconeJ\" src=\"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/FalconeJ-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>FREDONIA:\u00a0 John Falcone, 90, a resident of Fredonia Place, Howard Street, Fredonia, formerly of Main Road, Silver Creek, died Sunday, May 5th, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a short illness.\u00a0 He was born in Fredonia, on January 11, 1923, the son of the late Joseph and Laura (Polvino) Falcone.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Falcone was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1940 and graduated with a Bachelor\u2019s in Arts Degree in Chemistry from the University of Buffalo in 1944.\u00a0 He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946.\u00a0 He started as a Fruit &amp; Vegetable Farmer with his father &amp; brothers as Joseph Falcone &amp; Sons, then with his son, grandson &amp; brother as Falcone Farms, Inc.\u00a0 Mr. Falcone was a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr O&#8217;Connor Council #5356, Silver Creek, the Faith Community of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Silver Creek, Tri-County Country Club, Forestville and PRO-FAC Commodity Committee.\u00a0 He was a former member of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestville, served on various Agricultural Committees, at one time was on the Advisory Board of M&amp;T Bank and was one of the original founders of the former American Massage, Silver Creek.\u00a0 Mr. Falcone enjoyed his children, grandchildren, golfing, hunting &amp; raising Springer Spaniels.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife Rose M. (Bue) Falcone, of St. Columban&#8217;s on the Lake, Silver Creek, whom he married January 3, 1948, in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Silver Creek, a son, Joseph C. (Jane) Falcone, of Silver Creek, four daughters, Patricia (Charles) Nebral, of the Villages in Florida, Susan (Robert) Stenstrom, of Alpharetta, Georgia, Linda Falcone, of Forestville, Gail (Richard) Mott, of Trumansburg, NY, a sister, Lillian (Joseph) Fischer, of Liverpool, NY and a brother, Joseph A. (Virginia) Falcone, of Mayville.\u00a0 Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, John Falcone, Stephen Falcone, David Nebral, Laura Gooding, Sarah Mott, Lindsay Mott &amp; Rachael Mott, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces &amp; nephews.\u00a0 Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Charles Falcone and by a sister Minnie Falcone.<\/p>\n<p>Friends are welcome to call at the Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday from 4-8 pm.\u00a0 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 o&#8217;clock, from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 165 Central Avenue, Silver Creek, with Rev. Daniel Fiebelkorn, pastor officiating (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH).\u00a0 Interment will be in Mt.
