Maxson, 88, of Fredonia Place, Howard Street, Fredonia, formerly of Forestville, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 8th, at TLC\/HN-Lake Shore Hospital, Irving.\u00a0 A lifelong area resident, he was born at home in the Town of Hanover, on October 30, 1924, the son of the late Robert and Ina (Ball) Maxson.<\/p>\n<p>In his early years, he attended the former Hanover School #5 and graduated from Forestville Central School, Class of 1943.\u00a0 Mr. Maxson was a Boy Scout with former Troop #21 in Nashville, NY, and served in the U.S. Army Artillery in Germany and was honorably discharged on August 12, 1947, after 2 years of service.\u00a0 He then returned to the family farm on Hanover Road, Forestville and pursued dairy farming until his retirement.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He enjoyed going to auctions, tractor pulls, farm shows and a trip to Hawaii with his niece.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include three sisters, Irene (Edward) Waxham, of Fredonia, Grace (Fay) Jones, of Cattaraugus and Alta Ribis, of Grayson, GA.\u00a0 Also surviving is an aunt Agnes Howard, of the WCA Home, Fredonia, 10 nieces &amp; nephews, 17 great nieces &amp; nephews and 15 great great nieces &amp; nephews.\u00a0 Besides his parents he was predeceased by 1 aunt, 2 uncles, a great niece and a great nephew.\u00a0 Friends are welcome to call at the Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Saturday, February 16th from 10 to 11 o&#8217;clock from where Funeral Services will be held at 11 o&#8217;clock, with Rev. James D.
