Forestville: James E. “Jim” Pryll Jr., 56, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 at his residence, surrounded by the love of the family who meant everything to him. He was born and raised in Arkwright on September 16, 1970, the son of James Pryll, Sr. and Diane Hyde.<\/p>\n

   He worked as a Highway Superintendent for the Village of South Dayton for approximately 19 years, where he was known for his hard work and dedication to this community. Arkwright was a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life. He was happiest outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, riding the side-by-side, or working on one of his demolition derby cars. He loved building them just as much as he loved getting behind the wheel. Jim was an avid Hotwheels collector.<\/p>\n

  Above everything else, Jim was a family man. His grandchildren were his world, and there was nothing he treasured more than the time he spent with them. Jim shared 39 years with the love of his life, Melanie. High school sweethearts, the two built a life together filled with love, family and countless memories. They were married on December 29, 1991 and went on to raise three children.  <\/p>\n

  Jim & Melanie were truly inseparable, and the love they shared was evident to everyone who knew them. Jim will be remembered for the life he built, the work he took pride in, his love of the outdoors and all the adventures and memories he shared with those around him. But more than anything, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. His family was his greatest accomplishment, and the love he gave them will live on through each of them. He was deeply loved and he will be deeply missed.<\/p>\n

   Survivors include wife Melanie (Tilley) Pryll of Forestville, two daughters; Trisha (Patrick) Dawson, Victoria (Kenny) Kilbury, a son; James (Jessica) Pryll, III, a sister; Michelle Pryll, and two brothers; Matthew & Eric Pryll. Also surviving are six cherished grandchildren; Dahlia, Tony & Alexei Dawson, Jolene & Kaylee Pryll, Adilynn Kilbury, his dog “Hank” along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by two brothers; Brenner and Alan Pryll, his stepmother Linda Pryll and his stepfather Randy Dulski. <\/p>\n

  Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday from 4-7 PM from where funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 AM with Rev. Gabriel Johnson, officiating. Interment will follow in in Arkwright Summit Cemetery.<\/p>\n
