Strasburg, 88, of Cheektowaga, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away Sunday, August 4th, 2024, at his residence, peacefully surrounded by his family.&nbsp; He was born in Buffalo on September 19, 1935, the son of the late Lester and Dorothy (Sweet) Strasburg.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Lester was a graduate of Lafayette High School in Buffalo and Bryant &amp; Stratton College where he received his Associate&#8217;s Degree.&nbsp; He was a proud Army Veteran having served during the Korean War.&nbsp; Lester worked for the former Ralston Purina Company, Dunkirk, for 27 years and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Silver Creek, where he served as a Eucharist Minister. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed going for walks in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Frances Strasburg, whom he married on March 3, 1962, in Buffalo, three daughters, Mary Ellen (Charles) Valone, Susan (Paul) Goodwin, Jill Strasburg, a son, Mark (Darlene) Strasburg and a sister, Dorothy Neuhaus.&nbsp; Also surviving are six grandchildren; Adam (Denise) Valone, Amanda (Brian) Szpilla, Andrew Strasburg, Joshua Goodwin, Lily Goodwin &amp; Ryan Goodwin, three great-grandchildren, his fur friend &#8220;Otis&#8221; and several nieces &amp; nephews.&nbsp; Besides his parents he was predeceased by a granddaughter Emma Valone, a brother Gary Strasburg and a sister Joan Meyer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, August 16th at 11 o&#8217;clock from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 165 Central Avenue, Silver Creek, with Rev. Daniel Fiebelkorn officiating.&nbsp; Interment will follow in Mt.
