Koopman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SILVER CREEK:&nbsp; Kathleen R. Koopman, 67, of Angell Road, Silver Creek, passed away Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a short illness.&nbsp; She was born in Fort Belvoir, VA on October 24, 1956, the daughter of the late Charles Farnsworth and Kathleen (Briggs) Huffman.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Kathleen was a graduate of JCC with High Honors receiving an Associates Degree in Science-Individual Studies.&nbsp; She loved gardening, nature and animals. Kathleen spent the last years of her life being a dog mom and a &#8220;great&#8221; Grammie.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Survivors include a daughter, Laura Leonard, a son, C. Jason (Melissa) Ellison, and two brothers, William (Rhonda) Farnsworth, of Humble, TX; John H. Huffman, of Silver Creek.&nbsp; Also surviving are eight grandchildren, three nieces and her beloved dog &#8220;Mickey&#8221;.&nbsp; Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Thomas Koopman whom she married July 21, 2001 in Arkwright; a son Shaun Ellison who died September 16, 2022; a brother Stephen Durbin and an aunt Patricia Mockler.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; The family suggests memorials may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness, 4301 Wilson Blvd, Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22203.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Arrangements are by Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, Forestville.&nbsp; To post condolences or memories go to www.rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SILVER CREEK:&nbsp; Kathleen R.
