SILVER CREEK: Kathleen R. Koopman, 67, of Angell Road, Silver Creek, passed away Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a short illness. She was born in Fort Belvoir, VA on October 24, 1956, the daughter of the late Charles Farnsworth and Kathleen (Briggs) Huffman.<\/p>\n
Kathleen was a graduate of JCC with High Honors receiving an Associates Degree in Science-Individual Studies. She loved gardening, nature and animals. Kathleen spent the last years of her life being a dog mom and a “great” Grammie.<\/p>\n
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Leonard, a son, C. Jason (Melissa) Ellison, and two brothers, William (Rhonda) Farnsworth, of Humble, TX; John H. Huffman, of Silver Creek. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, three nieces and her beloved dog “Mickey”. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Thomas Koopman whom she married July 21, 2001 in Arkwright; a son Shaun Ellison who died September 16, 2022; a brother Stephen Durbin and an aunt Patricia Mockler.<\/p>\n
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.<\/p>\n
