Wappman, 82, of Hurlbert Road Forestville, shares that he peacefully passed away Friday, January 26th, 2024.&nbsp; He was born in Buffalo, the son of the late Edward and Mabel Wappman and grew up in Hamburg.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Raymond was a graduate of the former Baker Victory High School, Class of 1960 and received his Associate&#8217;s Degree in Civil Engineering from SUNY Delhi.&nbsp; He started working for the New York State Department of Transportation and then enlisted into the US Army from 1963-1966 and was stationed in Korea.&nbsp; Raymond then moved back to Buffalo and continued to work for NYSDOT.&nbsp; He purchased a house in Forestville, met and married his wife, and eventually relocated to the Syracuse area, where he raised his family.&nbsp; After 30+ years of working for NYSDOT, he retired and moved back to Forestville, where he embarked on a second career of growing and selling blueberries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Together with his wife, they were very involved with St. Rose of Lima RC Church, Forestville and the Knights of Columbus Council #5356.&nbsp; He loved traveling with his wife and family, being outside tending to his blueberries, riding his bike and walking through his 80 acres of land.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Carmen Wappman of Forestville, his children Bruce (Elizabeth) Wappman and Lorraine (Lou) Stinebiser, and his sister, Elaine (Harold) Woodcock.&nbsp; While he will be greatly missed by many, none more than his three grandchildren whom he adored Bridget and Nathaniel Wappman and James Stinebiser.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; There will be no prior visitation observed.&nbsp; A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, January 30th at 10 o&#8217;clock from Faith Community of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Rose of Lima Church, Center Street, Forestville, with Rev. Daniel F. Fiebelkorn officiating.&nbsp; Interment will be in Ss.
