Hazelton, 67, of Whitehill Avenue, Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital, Jamestown, following a lengthy illness.&nbsp; He was born in Silver Creek on April 10, 1956, the son of the late Almon F. and Joyce M. (Pfleuger) Hazelton.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Bruce was known as a kind and gentle person, always quick to offer up a smile to others.&nbsp; Also known for his keen sense of quick wit and humor, laughter was abundant whenever in his presence. He enjoyed outdoor activities, including bike riding, camping, fishing and traveling, as well as thrifting, attending flea markets, rodeo events and local county fairs. &nbsp;Bruce also had an affinity for country music.&nbsp; He was an avid football fan and those who knew him also knew how much he enjoyed his coffee, but it had to be Tim Horton\u2019s iced coffee.&nbsp; Bruce also enjoyed a nice cold beer on occasion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; In 2015, Bruce received the Resource Center&#8217;s Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of successful independent living.&nbsp; He was also a former member of the Celoron Moose Club.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Prior to retirement, Bruce was employed as a stocker at Old Navy, Chautauqua Mall, Lakewood and The Resource Center.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Survivors include sisters, Carol Delcamp, of Fredonia; his twin Brenda Dooley, of Vero Beach, FL; three brothers, Gary (Sue) Hazelton, of Dunkirk; Gregory Hazelton, of Rumsey, CA; Dale (Kyle) Hazelton, of New Hampton, NY.&nbsp; Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer.&nbsp; Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; The family wishes to express their gratitude to both Aspire and The Resource Center.&nbsp; Memorials may be made either to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701 or to the Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society, PO Box 22324, New York, NY 10087.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Arrangements are by Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, Forestville.
