{"id":2824,"date":"2023-09-09T08:25:03","date_gmt":"2023-09-09T12:25:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/?p=2824"},"modified":"2023-09-09T08:25:03","modified_gmt":"2023-09-09T12:25:03","slug":"obituary-notice-lester-wayne-heupel-updated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/?p=2824","title":{"rendered":"Obituary Notice &#8211; Lester Wayne Heupel (Updated)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/HeupelLW-e1692613204664.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-2801\" src=\"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/HeupelLW-300x284.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"126\" height=\"119\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>GOWANDA:&nbsp; Lester Wayne Heupel, 90, a resident of Gowanda Rehab &amp; Nursing Center, formerly of Hanover Road, Silver Creek passed away Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 at his residence following a short illness.&nbsp; He was born in Silver Creek on May 13, 1933, the son of the late Clarence T. and Helen (Miller) Heupel, Sr.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Wayne served in the U.S. Army as a Pfc during peacetime.&nbsp; He worked as a Maintenance Man for Silver Creek Central School, for 10 years from 1988 to 1998 and also worked as a Carpenter since 1960.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Wayne was a member of Huntley Hose Co. #1 since 1954, joined Silver Lodge F&amp;AM #757 in Silver Creek in 1960 and was formerly the caretaker &amp; president for Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover.&nbsp; He enjoyed fixing things.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Survivors include a sister, Marie Dubert, of Maryland; a brother, Roger Heupel, of Florida a sister in law Kay Heupel of Amherst and ten nieces &amp; nephews.&nbsp; Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Clarence T.
