SILVER CREEK: Franklin C. Bertino, Jr., 66, of Central Avenue, Silver Creek, passed away Friday, July 21st, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Lackawanna on November 14, 1956, the son of the late Franklin C. and Flora Mae (Parks) Bertino, Sr.<\/p>\n
Franklin attended Silver Creek School and worked as a Dishwasher for Native Pride in Irving, until he retired in January 2023. He was a member of the Amvets in Silver Creek and an honorary member of Silver Creek Hook & Ladder.<\/p>\n
Franklin enjoyed playing on Silver Creek Pool Leagues and loved watching the Buffalo Bills & Sabres. His famous saying was “What’s Happening?”<\/p>\n
Survivors include four sisters, Margaret (Michael) Vacanti, of Silver Creek; Barbara (Randy) Salsgiver, of Kittanning, PA; Lorraine Parks, of St. Joseph, MO; Mary (Ed) Ernst, of Dunkirk; two brothers, Robert (Terri) Bertino, of North Carolina; Jeff (Dar) Rowe, of Fredonia. Also surviving are several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his stepmother Janet Lynn Bertino.<\/p>\n
Frank had many friends who will miss him deeply. The family would like to especially thank Bill & Linda Bender and Tim Voss.<\/p>\n
Graveside Services will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, Old Main Road, Silver Creek on Saturday, August 26th<\/sup>, 2023 at 11 o\u2019clock.<\/strong><\/p>\n The family suggests memorials may be made to Silver Creek Fire Dept. Emergency & Rescue Squad, 162 Central Avenue, Silver Creek, NY 14136.<\/p>\n Arrangements are by Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, Forestville.
