Butcher, 16, of South Dayton, passed away at his home Thursday, July 28th, 2022, sadly due to a self-inflicted injury.&nbsp; He was born on October 5, 2005, the son of Julia Witherell and Michael W. Butcher.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Wyatt was a Pine Valley Central School student and attended BOCES P-Tech, where he was earning his high school diploma and an associate\u2019s degree in welding.&nbsp; He exhibited a natural ability for welding and excelled at it.&nbsp; Wyatt had plans to go on for his bachelor&#8217;s degree in homeland security and later go active duty in the military.&nbsp; He was looking forward to the many adventures&#8217; life would bring him and planned to travel after high school.&nbsp; Wyatt was always smiling and was well liked by everyone he met.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; He was part of the South Dayton Fire Department, planned to join the National Guard in October, when he turned 17 and was a member of the Jamestown Rifle Club, where he participated in competition shooting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Wyatt enjoyed spending time with his friends &amp; family, playing video games, baseball &amp; floor hockey, fishing &amp; hunting.&nbsp; He loved history and especially loved learning about historical military facts, which he would quiz everyone on.&nbsp; Wyatt was a great big brother and loved spending time with his siblings.&nbsp; Words cannot express what a great young man Wyatt was, and his family has always been incredibly proud of his many achievements.&nbsp; Wyatt&#8217;s death is a tragedy that words cannot begin to explain for everyone that knew him and he will be greatly missed by many.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Survivors include his mother Julia Witherell (boyfriend Joshua Doner), his father Michael Butcher (second mom Ashley Mann) both of South Dayton, siblings Warren T. Butcher; John &#8220;Will&#8221; Thomas; Elwood Dustin; Amelia Butcher all of South Dayton, maternal grandmother Gloria (Klemens) Witherell of South Dayton, paternal grandparents Rose (Kevin) Leach of Dunkirk, John (Laurie) Butcher of Collins and a large number of aunts, uncles &amp; cousins.&nbsp; He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather John D. Witherell.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Friends are welcome to call at Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Thursday from 4-7 PM and on Friday from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o&#8217;clock.&nbsp; Interment will follow in Villenova Cemetery, Town of Villenova.&nbsp; A Fireman&#8217;s Service will be conducted by members of the South Dayton Fire Department on Friday at 7 pm in the funeral home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 28 at 12 noon in the South Dayton Fire Hall.&nbsp; To post condolences or memories go to www.rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SOUTH DAYTON:&nbsp; Wyatt M.
