Carpenter, 77, of Ball Road, Cassadaga, died Saturday, August 8th, 2020 in the Town of Arkwright.\u00a0 He was born in Jamestown, on August 23, 1942, the son of the late Floyd &#8220;Spike&#8221; and Virginia (Davison) Carpenter, Sr.<\/p>\n<p>David lived at the former McClenathan&#8217;s Trailer Court, Fredonia for 30 years (from 1965-1995) before moving to the Town of Arkwright.<\/p>\n<p>He worked as a Truck Driver for a total of 37 years.\u00a0 David loved truck driving, it was in his blood.\u00a0 He started in 1969 with A. Sam &amp; Sons, hauling produce and then drove for several companies until 1979, when he was hired by Red Wing in Fredonia.\u00a0 He continued to drive for Red Wing &amp; Carriage House for 26 years, until December 31, 2005, when they dissolved the fleet.\u00a0 He pulled single, double &amp; triple axle trailers.\u00a0\u00a0 David was a &#8220;Proud Professional Truck Driver.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He enjoyed riding motorcycles and had several over his lifetime.\u00a0 Even after he went on oxygen for health reasons, he would strap the tank on and go riding.\u00a0 David enjoyed watching &#8220;Old Time TV Programs&#8221; and going on family vacations, mostly to Tennessee and Pigeon Forge.\u00a0 He also enjoyed going fishing and going out to eat-especially at McDonald&#8217;s to meet up with his guy friends for coffee &amp; conversation.\u00a0 David&#8217;s bed partner was his beloved Daschund (weiner dog) &#8220;Patches.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife June M. (Snyder) Carpenter of Cassadaga, whom he married 55 years ago on June 19, 1965, in South Dayton and whom he loved until the day he died, a daughter, Candace M. Glowniak, of Cassadaga; two sons Michael A. (LaVonne) Carpenter, of Brocton; John A. (Denise Lopez) Carpenter, of Sinclairville; and a brother, Floyd Carpenter, Jr., of Florida.\u00a0 Also surviving are a sister-in-law Ethel Carpenter of Brocton and three grandchildren, Travis Carpenter, Quintina (Jacob) Steinhoff and Ida Lewis.\u00a0 Besides his parents he was predeceased by an infant brother Wayne Carpenter, a brother James Carpenter, Sr. and a grandson Leonard Ecker.<\/p>\n<p>There will be no visitation observed.\u00a0 A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.\u00a0 Time and place to be announced.<\/p>\n<p>The family suggests memorials may be made to Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E.
