\"BrennanC-2\"<\/a>SILVER CREEK:\u00a0 Charles Walter Brennan, 96, of Versailles Road, Silver Creek, died Thursday, December 26th, 2019 at home, following a lengthy illness.\u00a0 He was born in Silver Creek, on May 26, 1923, the son of the late Charles Stephenson and Emma Charlotte (Dearborn) Brennan.<\/p>\n

He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and worked as a Grape Farmer, owning & operating Brennan Farms, Silver Creek, for 50 years.\u00a0 Mr. Brennan was also a machinist, owning the former Hanover Machine & working for other companies in Western New York and owned & operated the former Brennan’s Farm Market in Sheridan.<\/p>\n

He was a Board member of the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, a member of the Northern Chautauqua Wood Carvers and a former member of the Mason’s.\u00a0 Mr. Brennan was a devoted Christian, loving husband and a great father.\u00a0 He enjoyed making many wood projects for family members and friends.<\/p>\n

Survivors include his wife Mary Jane (Winstel) Brennan, of the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab, Dunkirk, whom he married on April 6, 1946, in Silver Creek, a daughter, Linda (Robert) Halenkamp, of Sachse, TX; four sons Paul (Pia Doro) Brennan, of Angola; Stephen (Lisa) Brennan, of Silver Creek; Richard (Nita) Brennan, of Silver Creek; David (Kim) Brennan, of Cuero, TX; a sister, Marge Foxton, of Silver Creek and a brother, Ronald (Janet) Brennan, of Forestville.\u00a0 Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.\u00a0 Besides his parents he was predeceased by two sisters Marion Brinkman and Betty Sheffer.<\/p>\n

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Monday from 5-8 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock with Rev. Thomas Pollock and Rev. Michael Pollock, of Gage Chapel Community Church, officiating.\u00a0 Interment will follow in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover, where Graveside Military Services will be conducted by members of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestville.<\/p>\n
