FORESTVILLE:\u00a0 Ruth B. Strong, 92, of Main Street, Forestville, died Friday, February 10th, at TLC\/HN-Nursing Facility, Irving.\u00a0\u00a0 She was born in Cuba, NY on February 16, 1919, the daughter of the late Floyd and Florence (Hamilton) Burlingame.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Strong was a graduate of Hinsdale High School, Class of 1934.\u00a0 In 1938, she graduated from the former Buffalo State Teachers College, with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and received her Masters Degree from Fredonia State University.\u00a0 She was a 3rd Grade Elementary Teacher for Cassadaga Valley Central School for 16 years, retiring in 1976.\u00a0 Mrs. Strong was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association and the First Baptist Church, Dunkirk.<\/p>\n
Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne I. Strong, of Forestville, Sally (William) Uhlendorff, of Westerville, OH and a son, Robert W. (Susan) Strong, II, of Federal Way, Washington.\u00a0 Also surviving are 5 grandchildren Heidi K., Heather K. & David W. Uhlendorff all of Westerville, OH and Nathan R. & John W. Strong both of Federal Way, Washington and several nieces & nephews.\u00a0 Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Strong, Sr., whom she married July 25, 1946 in the Almond Union of Churches, Almond NY and who died January 17, 2006, by 3 sisters Marion E. McMahon, Winifred Burlingame & Lucie Van Namee and by a brother Clarence Burlingame.<\/p>\n
Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Friday, Feb. 24th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, from where Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning, Feb. 25th, at 10 o’clock, with Rev. Robert C.
