Snyder, 79, of Versailles Road, Irving, died Sunday, February 4th, 2018 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a short illness.\u00a0 He was born in the Town of Hanover, on August 3, 1938, the son of Joyce (Kramer) Snyder, of Dunkirk and the late Clifford Snyder.<\/p>\n<p>He was a graduate of Gowanda High School and served in the U.S. Navy.\u00a0 Mr. Snyder started with the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center and continued with the Gowanda Correctional Facility for a total of 38 years, retiring as a Plant Superintendent.\u00a0 He owned Snyder Farms in Irving (a grape &amp; produce farm).\u00a0 It was one of the anchor farms that attended the Farmer&#8217;s Market in Dunkirk for 50 years.\u00a0 He enjoyed bingo, casinos &amp; farming. Mr. Snyder loved his family.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife Janice V. (Wright) Snyder, whom he married on October 1, 1985, in Silver Creek, two sons Larry (Pam) Snyder, of Springville; Kenneth (Laurie) Snyder, of Maryland; a daughter, Patricia Snyder Hollingsworth, of Texas; a step son, Thomas Lawton, of Irving; a step daughter, Wendy (Jonathan) Heinz, of Dunkirk; and a sister, Donna Merrill, of Fredonia.\u00a0 Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces &amp; nephews.<\/p>\n<p>There will be no visitation observed.\u00a0 Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o&#8217;clock from Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville.\u00a0\u00a0 Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Rathbun Cemetery, Town of Hanover.\u00a0 The family suggests memorials may be made to a Pet Rescue of one&#8217;s choice.\u00a0 To post condolences go to www.rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Usflag.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1218\" alt=\"usflag\" src=\"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Usflag.gif\" width=\"102\" height=\"76\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Navy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-404\" alt=\"Navy\" src=\"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Navy.jpg\" width=\"97\" height=\"95\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IRVING:\u00a0 Marvin W.
