FREDONIA:\u00a0 David J. Szumigala, 71, of Lamberton Road, Fredonia, died Sunday, November 19th, 2017 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a lengthy illness.\u00a0 He was born in the Town of Sheridan, on November 12, 1946, the son of the late Joseph and Stephanie (Rusnaczyk) Szumigala.<\/p>\n
He was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1966.\u00a0 Mr. Szumigala worked for the former Plymouth Tube, Dunkirk, and the former AJ Falcone Farms.\u00a0 He also worked as a Truck Driver for Add Lumber Co. Dunkirk for 14 years.\u00a0 Mr. Szumigala enjoyed deer hunting.<\/p>\n
Survivors include his wife Margaret “Peggy” (Seekings) Szumigala, of Fredonia, whom he married July 1, 1972, in the Town of Sheridan, a son, David M. (Amy Decker) Szumigala, of Fredonia; a sister, Barb Hopf, of Lesburg, FL; two brothers, Timothy (Kris) Szumigala, of North Carolina; Adrian (Pat) Szumigala, of Florida and a sister in law Norma Szumigala of Arcade.\u00a0 Also surviving are 1 granddaughter Haley Marie Szumigala and several nieces & nephews.\u00a0 Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Joseph Szumigala and 2 sisters Stephanie Szumigala and Theresa Graff.<\/p>\n
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.\u00a0 Time and place to be announced.<\/p>\n
