{"id":1427,"date":"2017-11-18T18:22:02","date_gmt":"2017-11-18T23:22:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/?p=1427"},"modified":"2017-11-18T18:22:02","modified_gmt":"2017-11-18T23:22:02","slug":"obituary-notice-ella-mae-saye","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com\/?p=1427","title":{"rendered":"Obituary Notice &#8211; Ella Mae Saye"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SOUTH DAYTON:\u00a0 Ella Mae Saye, 91, of Main Street, South Dayton, died Saturday, November 18th, 2017, at UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital, Jamestown, following a short illness.\u00a0 She was born in Duke Center, PA on January 8, 1926, the daughter of the late Roland and Alta (Stuart) Smith.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Saye was a graduate of the former Otto Township School, Class of 1944, in Duke Center, PA and worked as a Baker for the former South Dayton Super Duper, for 12 years.\u00a0 She opened the former Hilltop Restaurant in Dayton and raised her children on a dairy farm.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Saye was a member of the South Dayton United Methodist Church, where in 2005, she was awarded the Laity Award for her unending work for the church, was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Forestville Chapter #247 and the South Dayton Fire Belles.\u00a0 She was known for making cakes of all kinds, especially wedding cakes.\u00a0 She liked embroidering &amp; crocheting and giving them as gifts.\u00a0 Mrs. Saye enjoyed her family, friends &amp; home.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Eric) Saye-Johnson, of South Dayton; Lori (Francis) Petersen, of South Dayton; Lisa (Bruce) Ivett, of Hollywood, MD; two sons Charles (Janeen) Saye, of Hurt, VA; and Steven (Allie) Saye, of Dunkirk.\u00a0 Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and several nieces &amp; nephews.\u00a0 Besides her parents she was predeceased by her 2nd husband Henry Stranz and 3 sisters Stella Carlson, Leah Kyser and Bessie Gulnac.<\/p>\n<p>Friends are welcome to call at Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o&#8217;clock, with Rev.
