Burau, 91, of Old Main Road, Silver Creek, passed away Tuesday, September 12th, 2017, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.\u00a0 She was born in Buffalo, on March 2, 1926, the daughter of the late William A. and Katherine (Gors) Miller.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Burau was educated in the Buffalo School District and attended College Classes at Erie Community College.\u00a0 She was President of the former Jalie Studio, Inc., Silver Creek., where she worked with her late husband Charles, for 40 yrs., retiring in the early 1990&#8217;s.\u00a0 Mrs. Burau specialized in forensic photography, construction &amp; development photography, wedding, professional, school &amp; oil painted portraits.\u00a0 At one time she worked for the former Hengerer&#8217;s Dept, Store in Buffalo, was a Legal Secretary for many insurance companies, worked as a Court Stenographer for the Town of Hanover and as a Notary of the Public.\u00a0 She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Silver Creek, a very active Life Member and Past President of the Samuel Cimino VFW Post #6472 Ladies Auxiliary, joining in 1978, where she held many offices, member of the Chautauqua County VFW Ladies Auxiliary, TOPS, the Red Hat Society and Senior Citizens Clubs.\u00a0 Mrs. Burau enjoyed family, friends, church, where she had a beautiful strong faith, vacationing &amp; nature.\u00a0 In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating &amp; remodeling homes with her late husband.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include two sons John (Shirley) Burau, and James (Michele) Burau, both of Silver Creek.\u00a0 Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Christina Thies, Robert Burau, &amp; Tina Burau, 4 great grandchildren Jessica, Megan, Zander &amp; Daniel, 2 great-great grandchildren Leon &amp; Troy and several nieces &amp; nephews.\u00a0 Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Charles E. Burau, who died in 1993, by 2 brothers Robert Miller (POW-MIA) &amp; William Miller, by a sister Kathryn Jones and by a grandson-in-law Daniel Thies.<\/p>\n<p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, September 22, 2017, at 10:00 o&#8217;clock from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 165 Central Avenue, Silver Creek, with Rev. Daniel Fiebelkorn, pastor officiating.\u00a0 Private Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Silver Creek.<\/p>\n<p>The family suggests memorial donations may be made either to the Samuel Cimino VFW Post #6472, 13 Main Street, Silver Creek, NY 14136 or to Our Lady of Mt.
