\"DeGolierD1\"<\/a> \"DeGolierD2\"<\/a>FORESTVILLE:\u00a0 Dexter A. DeGolier, Sr., 87, of Hopper Road, Forestville, died Friday, January 27th, 2017 at the VA WNY Healthcare System, Buffalo, following a short illness.\u00a0 He was born in Sardinia, NY on March 16, 1929, the son of the late Elmer and Winona (Witherell) DeGolier.<\/p>\n

Mr. DeGolier was a graduate of Brocton High School, Class of 1947 and served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Korean Conflict.\u00a0 He worked as a Supervisor for the former Al-Tech Specialty Steel Corp Dunkirk, for 33 years, operated a farm on Hopper Road and owned DeGolier’s Maple Syrup, Forestville.\u00a0 Mr DeGolier was a lifetime member of the Forestville Baptist Church, for over 60 years, where he was a Deacon at one time.\u00a0 He enjoyed his family, camping and traveling-spending many winters in Florida & Tennessee.\u00a0 He also loved his dog “Chloe”.<\/p>\n

Survivors include his wife Beverly R. (Cave) DeGolier, of Forestville, whom he married on August 16, 1952, in Maryland, four daughters, Sylvia (Tim) Domenico, and Diane (Ken) Wassell, both of Forestville; Mary Field, of Dunkirk; Lucinda (David) Lewis, of Spring City, TN; two sons Dexter DeGolier, Jr., of Port Charlotte, FL; Tom (Christina) DeGolier, of Forestville; ten sisters, Joyce Smith, Joan\u00a0 McCargo, Wanda Kelley, Sheila Jackson, Sharon Barone, Charlene Plymyer, Janeen Noetling, Ardys Price, Rosella Homuth, Glora Ulrop, four brothers, Carl, Keith, Reed and Dennis DeGolier.\u00a0 Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.\u00a0 Besides his parents he was predeceased by 3 sisters Valerie Caudle, Beverly Reynolds, Theora Gens and by 2 brothers Gordon and Warren DeGolier.<\/p>\n

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.\u00a0 Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock from the Forestville Baptist Church, Prospect Street, Forestville, with Rev. Michael Pollock officiating.\u00a0 Interment will follow in Cassadaga Cemetery, where Graveside Military Services will be conducted by members of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestville.<\/p>\n
