Dye, Sr., 61, of Creek Road Forestville, died Sunday, May 15th, 2016 at his residence, following a courageous battle with cancer.\u00a0 He was born in Cumberland, MD on March 20, 1955, the son of the late Jacob and Angie (Broadwater) Dye.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Dye served in the Military for over 35 years, starting with the Marine Corps from 1972-1983, the New Hampshire National Guard and continued with the Army from 1985-2010, working as a Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor and retiring as a Master Sergeant.\u00a0 In 2011, he graduated from Columbia Southern University with a Master&#8217;s of Science Degree.\u00a0 Mr. Dye was a life member of the Marine Corps League and the NRA.\u00a0 He was a member of American Legion Post #777 Celoron, Sheridan VFW Memorial Post #6390, Loyal Order of the Moose #89, Dunkirk, Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club, First Ward Falcon Club, and the Kosciuszko Club Dunkirk.\u00a0 He was also in a local bowling league, horseshoe league and golf league.\u00a0 Mr. Dye enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.\u00a0 He especially loved dancing with his wife and spending time with his family.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife, Charlene J. (Howard) Dye of Forestville, whom he married on February 14, 1993, in the Town of Arkwright, three sons Jacob (Amanda) Dye, of Ft. Dix, NJ; Charles (Magdalena) Dye, Jr., of Dunkirk; Thomas Dye, of Maine; two daughters, Pam (Phil Erick) Dye, of Forestville; Melissa Borowiak, of Forestville, two brothers, Roy and Paul Dye and three sisters, Dorothy Myers, Sharon Thomas and Anna Dye.\u00a0 Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and several nieces &amp; nephews.\u00a0 Besides his parents he was predeceased by 4 brothers Jimmy, Billy, Donald &amp; Louis Dye and by a sister Donna Fields.<\/p>\n<p>Friends are welcome to call at Riles &amp; Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Thursday, from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 PM, from where Funeral Services will be held from Friday morning at 10 o&#8217;clock, with Rev. James D. Witherington, Jr., Hospice Chaplain, officiating.\u00a0 Interment will follow in Forestville Cemetery.\u00a0 Military Graveside Services will be conducted by members of the Dunkirk Joint Veteran\u2019s Council.<\/p>\n<p>The family suggests memorials may be made to HOSPICE Palliative Care of Jamestown, 20 W.
