Obituary Notice – Ellyn Sutehall

Dunkirk: Ellyn (Richardson) Sutehall, 92, a resident of Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab, Dunkirk, formerly of Angola, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at her residence three days after her 72nd wedding anniversary. She was born in the town of Sheridan on November 3, 1932, the daughter of the late Bert and Dorothy (Farnham) Richardson.

   Ellyn was a graduate of Silver Creek High School, Class of 1950. She worked as a sales clerk at the AM&A’s/BonTon store at the McKinley Mall for seventeen years. Ellyn was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Silver Creek, the Debra Circle, Sheridan Happy Seniors where she served as president for three years, and the Silver Creek Senior Citizens. She was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.

   Survivors include her husband Robert “Bob” Sutehall of Fredonia whom she married on September 5, 1953, in the Methodist Church, Silver Creek; two daughters Janet Arnold of Weaverville, NC, and Kathy Sutehall of Asheville, NC; a brother Lee Richardson, of Tucson, AZ and three grandsons Jon and Tom Arnold of Wilmington, NC, and Toby Arnold of Buffalo. Besides her parents she was predeceased by four sisters; Lucille Chesbro, Carol Fafinski, Shirley Meller, Joyce Richardson and three brothers; Wayne “Bud”, Ernest and Howard Richardson.

   Friends are welcome to call on Saturday, September 20, at the First United Presbyterian Church, 35 Park Place, Silver Creek, from 10am-11am, where funeral services will follow at 11 o’clock with Rev. Thomas Burian officiating. Lunch will immediately follow in the fellowship hall.
