Obituary Notice – Donald Frederickson, Sr.

IRVING:  Donald Frederickson, Sr., 90, of Versailles Road, Irving, formerly of Dayton, died Wednesday, January 20th, 2021.  He was born in Arcade, on June 7, 1930, the son of the late Robert and Delsie (Parr) Frederickson.

  He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal with the 350th Infantry from 1951-1953. Donald worked as a Therapy Aide for the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center, Gowanda, for 27 years retiring in 1992 and previously worked for the former Peter Cooper of Gowanda for 15 years.  He was a former member of Dayton Fire Company, for 35 years and a past Assistant Group Leader for the former #41 & #241 Boy Scout troops in Gowanda.  Donald enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing & camping.

 Survivors include his wife Patricia (Teeter) Frederickson of Rochester, whom he married on August 14, 1970 in Springville, a daughter, Cindy Allen, of North Carolina; three sons Robert (Michelle) Frederickson, of Jamestown; Gary (Bonnie) Frederickson, of Dunkirk; Donald Frederickson, Jr., of Rochester; two step daughters, Debra (Wayne) Collins, of Florida; Barbara Scottow, of Rochester; a step son, Richard Bowers, of Olean; four sisters, Irene (Earl) Blakely, of Irving; Anna Frederickson, of Silver Creek; Lucille Harmon, of Florida; Lois (David) Valentine, of Forestville; two brothers, Roy Frederickson, of South Dayton; and James Frederickson, of Forestville.  Also surviving are a brother in law Lester Palmer, five grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by five brothers Marvin, Robert, Lyle, Ernest & Harold Frederickson two sisters Mavis Bonkoske and Virginia Palmer, who died December 17, 2020.

  Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Friday afternoon from 2-5 PM.  Due to COVID restrictions, the funeral home can have 33% capacity (approximately 50 people at a time).  Private Interment will be in Balltown Cemetery, Town of Hanover.

    Dear Family,
    Deepest sympathy to you all on the loss of Donald.
    My Mom was Carol (Harris) Feltz, Donald’s cousin and daughter of Florence Frederick son Feltz.
