Obituary Notice – Walter G. Pfleuger

PfleugerWDUNKIRK:  Walter G. Pfleuger, 95, a resident of Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab Center, Dunkirk, formerly of Silver Creek & Forestville, passed away peacefully Monday, September 11th, 2017, at his residence.  He was born in Silver Creek, on April 9, 1922, the son of the late Melvin and Hattie (Gould) Pfleuger.

Mr. Pfleuger served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during WW II, in Germany.  He worked as a Lift Truck Mechanic for the Ford Stamping Plant, Woodlawn, for 28 years and was a life member of the Lake Chautauqua Memorial VFW Post #8647, Mayville.  Mr. Pfleuger enjoyed fishing, cars and female companionship.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Richard) Lezark, and Elaine Pfleuger, both of Derby; five sons Dwight Pfleuger, of Florida; Paul (Carol) Pfleuger, of Cheektowaga; Kevin Pfleuger, of Berea, Kentucky; Mark (Adelle) Pfleuger, of Florida; and Donn (Tammy) Pfleuger, of Forestville.  Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Harriet (Gray) Pfleuger, who died August 31, 1997, a son Glenn Pfleuger, four sisters Joyce Hazelton, Ruth Ball, Betty Pazda, Martha Lautenslaker and two brothers Lester & Raymond Pfleuger.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.  Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of family.  Private Interment will be in Forestville Cemetery.  Military Services will be conducted by members of Lake Chautauqua Memorial VFW Post #8647 on Thursday afternoon at 3:45 in the funeral home.

    So sorry to hear of Uncle Walt’s passing. Hopefully all the brothers and sisters are having wonderful times in Heaven. Fond memories are what keeps the living going. Hopefully you have many.
