SILVER CREEK:  Thomas H. Schulenberg, 66, of Silver Creek, died Tuesday, June 19th, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, following a lengthy illness.  He was born in Dunkirk, on July 14, 1945, the son of Rita (Dillenkofer) Schulenberg, of Port Orange, FL and the late Frank Schulenberg.

He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a Police Sergeant and as Acting Police Chief for the former Town of Hanover Police Department, retiring in 1985.  Mr. Schulenberg was a member of the NYS Police Chief’s Association, member of the NY Police Chief’s Benevolent Association and a life member of Samuel Cimino VFW Post #6472, Silver Creek.  He enjoyed building model ships and was an avid boater.

Surviving besides his mother are his wife Barbara (White) Cloud Schulenberg, of Silver Creek, whom he married in 1977, a daughter, Paula (Jeff) Green, of St. Petersburg, FL, a son, Jim (Tracy) Schulenberg, of Fredonia, two step sons Doug Cloud, of Lackawanna,  Andy Cloud, of Atlanta, GA and a step daughter, Lorrie Cloud, of Silver Creek.  Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

There will be no visitation observed.  Memorial Services will be held from Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville, Monday morning, June 25th, at 11 o’clock, with Rev. Michael Stitzel of the Forestville Baptist Church and Rev. Drew Stewart, officiating.

    Your husband was a great man and we will all miss him. He was a teacher like you are. I enjoyed the rides to school every day when it was really cold out and your husband would do the same. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. You were always my best teacher, miss you lots.

    sorry for the loss of Tom. He was always a good friend. haven’t seen him in a while but always spoke when we did meet some where. Good high school friend and neighbor for awhile when he lived on maple ave in dunkirk
