DUNKIRK:  Eleanore H. Murray, 77, a resident of Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab, Dunkirk, formerly a longtime resident of Silver Creek went home to be with her Lord & Savior Saturday, March 13th, 2021, following a lengthy illness at her residence.  She was born in Silver Creek on June 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Hoffer) Popard.

  Eleanore worked as an Inspector for the former Remtronics in Dunkirk, for 30 years.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and collecting angels.  Eleanore loved to be with family & friends and to talk and visit.

  Survivors include a sister, Jeanne Blakely, of Forestville a sister in law Susan Popard of Forestville and several nieces & nephews.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Roy Popard, who died June 17, 2020.

  Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville Monday from 3-6 PM from where A Catholic Burial Service will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock with Rev. Daniel Fiebelkorn, pastor of Faith Community of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Silver Creek, officiating.  Interment will follow in Balltown Cemetery, Town of Hanover.  COVID restrictions allow 50% capacity (approximately 80 people) in the funeral home at a time.

I’m thinking about you though, every single day. See you someday down the road. Be safe and stay warm.   3. Eleanor, I remember so well. The hot summer days we sat on the porch eating watermelon. You let me walk your dog every night and your mom was a mom to me. Rest I. Peace my dear friend. Enjoy heaven with your parents and brother and please say hi to my mom and dad.sent
