SILVER CREEK:  Leonard C. Dingeldey, Jr., 91, of Angell Road, Silver Creek, died Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 at Buffalo General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.  He was born in Buffalo, on November 12, 1927, the son of the late Leonard C. and Estella (Kepner) Dingeldey, Sr.

Mr. Dingeldey served in the U.S. Army during WW II and worked as a Cleaner/Custodian for Hamburg Central School District, for 20 years.  He was a member of the Hamburg American Legion Post #527 and a former member of the Dunkirk Moose Lodge #89.  Mr. Dingeledey enjoyed antique cars, scrapbooking and the Buffalo Bills.

Survivors include a son, Leonard Charles Dingeldey, III, of Blasdell; a daughter, Louise (Forrest) Pollock, of Blasdell; three step sons Patrick (Chris) Richmond, of North Carolina; Robert (Margie) Richmond, of Forestville; Fleury (Robin) Richmond, of Forestville;  two step daughters, Jane Smith, of Tennessee; and Donna (Michael) Webber, of Cattaraugus.  Also surviving are twenty three grandchildren, several great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Alice Schwartz, his second wife Eva (Whitford) Dingeldey, whom he married May 19, 1990 in Missouri and who died September 23, 2014, by an infant sister and his stepfather Edward Antweiler.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 4th, 2018 at the South Dayton American Legion Post #1593, 4 Mill Street, South Dayton, at 1 o’clock.  Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Forestville Cemetery.
