One of the best. He’s the reason my wife became a teacher. He made learning so much fun that you wanted to come to school every day. You can’t put a number on the amount of lives he has had a positive impact on. Rest in peace Mr Stewart.

I worked with Doug as a teacher’s aid for many years. He was a wonderful teacher and coworker. May your sweet memories of this good man sustain you. God Bless his family and friends.

Mr. Stewart was one of my favorite teachers. Such a wonderful environment with Mr. Greenleaf in our little town making toys to sell. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. My condolences to the family.

Mr. Stewart was one of my children’s favorite teachers, and I could tell that he really cared about each child in his cluster. He was creative and innovative, too. His Greenstews and town government with Mr. Greenleaf taught the kids a lot about cooperation and leadership. What a great role model! My sympathy to the Stewart family.

Our condolences to the entire family on Doug’s passing. He will be missed in the neighborhood as is Maureen. They were both such fun and vibrant personalities. May they rest in peace.

As a young teacher, I was given several “old guys” to set me down the right path. Doug was among these teachers. Breakfast on Fridays and the horseraces in Fort Erie were where we would meet. Doug was the funniest, mellowest, and kindest person. If I can be half the teacher that Doug was, I would call it a good career. “Rye toast and tea” will always remind me of Doug. His stories of teaching with Bill Greenleaf always bring a smile to my face.
