Obituary Notice – Ruth M. Hilliker

DUNKIRK:  Ruth M. Hilliker, 91, a resident of Absolut Care of Dunkirk, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away Sunday, April 9th, 2017 at her residence.  She was born in Perrysburg, NY on January 6, 1926, the daughter of the late Earl and Sadie (Moss) Marble.  Mrs. Hilliker was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1942.  She worked as a Cook for both Forestville Central School for 10 years and the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center Helmuth, NY for 15 years.

Mrs. Hilliker was a member of Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, Silver Creek, for over 60 years and enjoyed cross stitch, knitting, jigsaw puzzles and was a lover of Jesus.

Survivors include a daughter, Carme Phillips, of Birmingham, AL; a son, James (Darlene) Hilliker, of Forestville; and a brother, Doug (Karen) Marble, of South Lynn, MA.  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Howard A. “Bite” Hilliker, whom she married in 1945, in Silver Creek and who died April 15, 1980, by a son Wayne A. Hilliker, who died November 26, 2004 and a great grandson Matthew Hilliker.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. from where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, morning at 11 o’clock, with Rev. Michael Leamon, pastor of Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Smith Mills Cemetery.

    God bless the family. Ruth was a special lady and I have enjoyed getting to know her over the past 40+ years I have been in the family. Stu’s wife, Becky
