Obituary Notice – Frank J. Kibelsbeck

kibelsbeckfSILVER CREEK:  Frank J. Kibelsbeck, 79, of Dennison Road, Silver Creek, died unexpectedly Friday, November 18th, 2016, at his residence.  He was born in Lackawanna on January 24, 1937, the son of the late Frank S. and Theresa (Lippacher) Kibelsbeck.

Mr. Kibelsbeck was a graduate of the former Buffalo Technical High School, Class of 1954 and graduated from Buffalo State with a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s Degree.  He taught Driver Education at Cassadaga Valley Central School, for 32 years.

Mr. Kibelsbeck served with the US Air National Guard from 1960-1963, the Air Force Reserve from 1963-1966, the 107th NY Air National Guard Fire Department, Niagara Falls, NY from 1981-1995 as a Master Sergeant and was called to active duty with the Air Force to serve in Desert Storm from 1990-1991.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Silver Creek, Hanover Center Fire Department since 1965, Silver Creek Emergency Squad from 1972-2002, Chautauqua County Fire Chiefs Association and American Legion Post #148, Silver Creek.  Mr. Kibelsbeck enjoyed going on cruises.

Survivors include a son, Erik (Jaime) Kibelsbeck, of Ithaca; and a daughter, Laura (Wade) Summers, of Southington, CT.  Also surviving are 2 grandsons Nathaniel & Kieran Summers.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Janet (Lau) Kibelsbeck, whom he married October 22, 1960 in Buffalo and who died February 28, 2014.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, from where Prayer Services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o’clock from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 165 Central Avenue, Silver Creek, with Rev. Daniel Fiebelkorn, pastor officiating.  A Fireman’s Service will be conducted by members of Hanover Hose Co. #1, Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock in the Funeral Home.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover.

    We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Frank. He was a wonderful man. I (Bob) worked with him for many years at Cassadaga Valley Schools. He will be dearly missed! RIP Frank!

    We were very saddened to hear of Frank’s passing. He was a highly accomplished man who lived a remarkable life. His dedication and devotion to his family, community and country is admirable. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Our deepest sympathy to his children Eric and Laura and to all his family and friends. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
