SchroederPCLERMONT, FL- Phillip Harold Schroeder, 75, of Clermont, FL, formerly of Forestville, passed away peacefully from cancer, on March 2, 2016 at his home with his wife by his side.  He was born February 26, 1941 in Dunkirk, the son of the late Albert and Myrtle (Palmer) Schroeder.

In 1981, after his marriage to Kathleen “Kathy” (Rodman) Schroeder, he moved to Clermont, FL.  He previously worked at the former Red Wing in Fredonia, as a truck dispatcher for 20 years, and then for Carolyn Candies in Clermont, FL as production manager for 16 years, took early retirement, and then worked as custodian of the FUMC Pre-school for about 3 years. Mr. Schroeder was a charter member of the Clermont Moose Lodge.

Since his school years, he played drums in several bands over the past 60 years, favoring the old country music. Mr. Schroeder played at Clerbrook RV several years and Bee’s RV almost 4 years and always enjoyed talking to the people while on break. He was a loving, gentle, easy going guy, always helping others. He enjoyed making wood projects, feeding the squirrels and birds, in the feeders he made, bike riding on the trail, working in the yard with his wife, watching NASCAR racing, keeping in touch with others on Facebook and was an Avon ‘man’ for 13 years with his wife. He liked to take a different route coming home than what he took getting there and always was willing and ready to do or go anywhere.  He is much loved and will be greatly missed by his family, friends and 2 cats.

Surviving besides his wife are 5 children; Jeffrey Schroeder of Fredonia, Judy Schroeder of Sheridan, Jim Schroeder of South Dayton, Jeremy (Sandie) Schroeder of Forestville, and Hank (Masha) Jensen of Reisterstown, MD, 2 sisters; Carol (Ed) Crecraft and Janice (Jim) Rundell both of Forestville, 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by an infant brother Donald Schroeder and a nephew Dale Crecraft.
